Bed, Age, Wood

Yes, there is a time in every man’s life when he finally realises that time is not on his side anymore. That the cruel mistress demands a sacrifice. At last he admits that he needs help, easement, alleviation … Especially when it comes to the place one spends a significant part of one’s lifetime in : The bed.
I heard the calls well, ignored them as long as possible, but finally had to give in : “Nun ist die Zeit des Aufbockens gekommen”, raunt der Alte vom Berge …
So I finally put the wooden cases for wine to a good use and placed the Lattenrost (Ger., Eng.) on four of them, one at every corner.

Yes, it makes things easier. Yes, I sleep well when so elevated. Yes, it gives easier access to under the bed. Yes, it is the reasonable thing to do.
Und doch …

  1. Sorry IDV : I just wanted to comment on your site, but it did not work. I was asked to select street signs, and after this clicked the “publish”-button. But instead of the usual publishing another box came up asking me “to copy the code into the empty box below”. Just that there is no box below where I could copy something in. I tried it several times.
I have no clue whether this is browser related (I use Qupzilla again) or what it may cause. No worries, I just want to let you know.

  2. You waited too long to do this! I stayed in an inn some years ago and the bed was so tall I had to take a running leap to get up in it. Later I discovered a ladder. A bed that needs a custom ladder, how silly! I am not a short person either, 5’8″, what is that 175.26 centimeters.

  3. Would this vice versa be called “topsy turvy”, dearest Tim ?

Yippiahyeah – Hoppelschaum has arisen !
I’ll call the first bunny “Schäumsche” in your honour !

Wonder over wonder – Melanie shows vital signs !
That would be my end – take a running jump into my bed with some Silvaner in my head. Oh, just yesterday I visited the occupational physician for an examination, it was the first time at all for me. They measured me and told me that I’d reach 178cm, what made me wonder because I always was told I’d measure 175cm. In the end he found nothing that prevents me from doing my job.
I don’t know whether I waited too long Melanie, I feel so bourgeois now.

  4. And I managed to delete your wp site – I am sorry Hoppelschaum, I can not look at your pictures right now because I do not find your wp-site. I have your flickr bookmarked.

  5. But do you also have Silvaner crates, Mr Peenee ? If not, I can offer you to empty some so that they are shippable. Yes, too altruistic, I know …

  6. Was heißt “Und doch …”? “… die Alte vom Berge”? Ich geb dir …!

Zum Glück hat dein Fanclub gute Ideen: Platz für Bücher unterm Bett – auf Büchern schlafen: Das muss dir doch das Glückseligste sein ;-) Und Wollmäuse lassen sich viel besser einsammeln und entsorgen (da bin ich Expertin!) …

Wie auch immer – gib zu: Für das alterslahme Kreuz ist’s ein Segen ;-)))) (Wie geht ein “teuflisches Grinsen”?

    Gute Nacht!

  7. Ey – wah’d amal an mohmend !

  8. Wow! I’m thinking IKEA is going to come calling with a lucrative licensing contract for this!

I can see it in the showroom now: MÅGØ SLÄÄT!
