Sunday Music, Monday Edition

This time it was difficult to find a Sunday Music. I started, as usual, somewhere and then drifted through musicland. I have some starting points, like a channel specialised on baroque music, another one that collects psychedelica etc. I have no real criterion sine qua non, except maybe the length of the piece or the video – duration not longer than four minutes, if possible. Usually it makes “cklick” sometime, and I know that I have found what I was looking for.
This time nothing clicked, yesterday at least. The guitars were boring, the baroque too fast, I niggled & poked on anything.
But there is always Helge SCHNEIDER (Ger., Eng.). Yes, I know, one part of my German speaking readers will skip now immediately, others will look indifferent and think something like “Bring it on, I saw worse !”, while a few will be interested. SCHNEIDER is usually announced as “comedian”, whatever this means in the actual German entertainment sector, but he’s also a gifted jazz musician – who sometimes playes “Strafjazz” / “jazz as punishment”, if the audience demands old nonsense songs, like the indestructible “Katzeklo'”. I know of no other song about the cat’s litter box that made it into the charts (13, German singles, 1994) ; but no fear, no litter box today. We will hear Herr SCHNEIDER with his Corona Song, in which he emphasises the necessity and advantage of being able to play a piano – möge es ein Ansporn sein.
I hope you enjoy the music, may the week be good to all of us.

  1. I have always wished that I could play the piano – though I don’t think this YouTube is going to help me fulfil my ambition!
    Have a good week!
    Sx

  2. No, Herr SCHNEIDER is not the teaching type. Maybe you could have a look at Mr Cory HALLs work, dearest MsScarlet.

He can actually be pretty good, especially when he does not sing, dear Dinahmow

Ha – who would have thought ?! Thank you very much Melanie. I never knew that Mr FORD can play an instrument.
